Under Construction

Please excuse the mess here at the new www.hollybonnerphotography.com as it is under construction! As you can see, I have done away with the old website and will only have the blog! HOORAY!!!! :) I was feeling a bit *OVERWHELMED* and needed to let something go. So, after much thought, I decided the website took up too much time to keep up and would be the easiest thing to let go of. Blogs are so much easier b/c as soon as you post something it is automatically updated, unlike a website where if you want to update you have to go in and upload everything in to all the different sections, yada yada…blah blah blah…therefore, I deleted it! So, now I have THIS & my Facebook page! :)

Giveaway!!!

So~…I think EVERY woman should have a portrait taken around her 20′s-30′s. The only portrait I have of my mom is her “engagement” portrait when she was 19 and it’s wallet size; back then (sorry Mom!) engagement portraits were only of the bride, the groom was not included. Men would probably prefer it to be that way today–sorry! ;)

I wish I had more photos of my mom in her 20′s-30′s. The more I thought about it the more I decided this is what I needed to do for a giveaway: a free session specifically for women ages 18-40 with a disc of edited images!!

Ok…so some of you may be thinking, “I’d rather have photos of my children taken”…well, I don’t photograph children anymore, BUT these photos will be something your children will cherish, maybe not now, but later on down the road! If you don’t have children, it’s okay! Give them to family, friends, post them on FB, etc., and more than likely one day you will have children. :)

Rules for the giveaway:

1. You must be a woman ages 18-40.

2. You must be willing to drive to me, zip 75954.

3. You must follow all entry guidelines or you will be eliminated from the giveaway.

4.  No entries past MIDNIGHT on SUNDAY, JUNE 5th. If you enter past midnight you will not be included in the drawing.

Imaginary Friends

Does anyone else’s children have imaginary friends? My daughter is 3 years-old and has 6 imaginary friends!! They all have different names, personalities, features–like hair color, eye color, height, etc. Her first imaginary friend was Jenny, then she “became friends” with Anna & Edna, followed by Iggy & Izzy, her newest friend is Sara. Certain ones of her “friends” will go with us in the car, in the store, etc. She sometimes wants me to buckle them in while in the car. PLEASE tell me there are other people whose kids do this!! lol…

Bridal Market 2011

I was SO lucky to find out about the Bridal Market in Nacogdoches just in time, thanks to my fabulous friend & second shooter Camille! I am extremely blessed that she loves to work events like this with me! She is absolutely FABULOUS and I tell her as often as I can! I seriously don’t know what I would do without her! There is absolutely no way I would’ve been able to unload all my products & other items I had at the bridal market without her help; I don’t see how anyone could work an event like that alone. Thank you, thank you, thank you Camille!!! You are fabulous!!! :)

Sheridan & Jessica~ Vintage Inspired Engagement

I met Jessica & Sheridan at the Bridal Market in Nacogdoches in January. I remember telling my friend & second shooter who helped me at the Bridal Market “they are so pretty!” lol…I had seen them walking around and was super excited when they came to my booth and  were interested in my work! Then they told me they liked vintage inspired photos, ME TOO!! We were standing at my booth talking when the announcer came on and said “Jessica Smith, congratulations, you just won a $500 gift certificate to _________Photography!!” I was SO disappointed, but tried not to show it! So they went to go find out about their prize and I was totally surprised when they came back to my booth and still booked their engagement session with me!! Yay! I was stoked!!!

For the engagement session we started out with their regular clothing, then we went to Hair Studio and Jenny styled Jessica’s hair and applied her make-up. Then we photographed the vintage part of the session in an old house with a beautiful piano in it! Love! I had such a great time with Jessica & Sheridan; they are such a beautiful couple, inside & out!! I could take their photo all day and still be happy!

Heart

On November 4th David & I woke up bright & early at 5:00 a.m., we were at Texas Children’t Hospital for check-in by 8:00. The check-in process was quick, the rest of the day, not so much; luckily we had friends & family coming to the hospital. We were all checked-in and sitting in the waiting room by about 8:20. I was supposed to be called back for my heart cath/balloon procedure by 10:00, needless to say, that didn’t happen! As you can see in the photos it was close to 12:30 so I was getting hungry because I wasn’t able to eat or drink since the night before. During the procedure the dr. was trying to use a balloon to open my aorta so I would have more blood flow, but every time he tried the aorta would collapse, so he ended up using a stint. The procedure lasted until around 4:30. I was very happy to wake up first to my Halle girl! :)

West Texas Skies

West Texas is flat, dry and very boring at times to drive across, but it does have some beautiful sunsets! With nothing in the way of your view you are able to see one of God’s daily reminders of how wonderful He truly is.

This one makes me want some cotton candy! :)

Lexi head shots

I was super excited when Lexi asked me to do new head shots of her before she moves to L.A. She has a degree in filmography and is getting back into acting. I would wish her “luck” or “to break a leg”…but I’m not sure which one it is in this case..so “Yay Lexi! I know you’ll do great!” :)
